Lara Bellingham
Lara came to UCSF in 2013 after 7 years of working as an Adult ICU and Neonatal RN in the Northern Virginia area. During her time at UCSF, she has worked as a bedside RN in the Intensive Care Nursery (ICN), served as an Assistant Unit Director in the ICN and led UCSF’s COVID Response Team as one of the Clinical Managers where she was the recipient of the DAISY® Nurse Leader Award. Lara helped to design and implement procedures to coordinate multidisciplinary, high risk delivery support at our Parnassus campus for UCSF perinatal and neonatal patients. Lara’s passion lies in working with people to make things happen. Lara is a University of Delaware graduate and is excited to join the Outreach team to continue to work to improve the quality and continuity of care for mothers, newborns, and children.
Kim Branciforte
Kim has been working in pediatrics since 2012 and teaching clinical nursing since 2014. She has recently joined our UCSF Outreach Team as the Pediatric Inpatient Educator. Kim received her Master's of Science in Nursing from the University of San Francisco and her in-patient experience includes Hematology, Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, as well as Pediatric Emergency Room experience. She has been a clinical instructor for the UCSF School of Nursing Nurse Practitioner Program as well as the Bachelor's Degree Nursing Program for San Francisco State University.
Meghan Duck
Announcing our new Perinatal Outreach Educator Meghan Duck. Meghan began her career at UCSF in 2007 as a new graduate nurse and during her time in our Birth Center promoted along the clinical ladder to a Clinical Nurse IV. She obtained her Master's of Science in Advanced Practice Perinatal Nursing in 2012, completing the Perinatal CNS track and a with a minor in Global Health. Recently she has been the Interim CNS in the Birth Center for the last 2 years and has worked on quality initiatives in the unit to improve care for pregnant and postpartum patients and their families. She is an active member of AWHONN and has helped with the AWHONN California Section Conferences. Meghan is also both an AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring Instructor. She is passionate about multidisciplinary education in Obstetrics and staying current on the literature to bring it into practice. Meghan is very excited to continue her career at UCSF as the Perinatal Outreach Educator.
Tanya Hatfield
Tanya has been working in the Neonatal Intensive Care since 2008, and since 2015 has been the Neonatal Outreach Educator at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, San Francisco. Her role as neonatal outreach educator includes providing classes, high-fidelity simulations & resources to 18 contract hospitals throughout California. Tanya received her Master of Science in Nursing Education from Walden University, and is certified RNC-NIC in high-risk neonatal nursing & in care of the extremely low birthweight infant. Tanya’s passions include addressing social justice issues in the NICU, and helping empower bedside nurses in leadership and education roles.
Inder Narula
Inder started her career as a new graduate nurse at San Francisco General Emergency Department in 2005 and transitioned to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Emergency Department in 2017. Inder earned her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan and her Master's at the UCSF Family Nurse Practitioner Program. In the past Inder has worked with the Trauma Recovery/Rape Treatment Center as a Forensic Nurse Practitioner and has a passion for working with underserved and vulnerable communities.
Sharlene Thompson-Johnson
Sharlene is a native of San Francisco and began working at UCSF in 2000. She joined the Outreach Program in May 2015. Sharlene provides administrative and analytical support to maintain and enhance the outreach program and services. Sharlene holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a focus on Community Health Education and a Master in Public Administration with a focus on Health Care Administration.
