Course Description

Endorsed in 2003 by the March of Dimes, The S.T.A.B.L.E
Program is a post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization
educational and clinical toll that has been implemented
throughout the U.S and in many regions worldwide.

The S.T.A.B.L.E Program is a post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization educational and
clinical tool that has been implemented throughout the U.S and in many regions worldwide.
“S.T.A.B.L.E.” stands for the six program modules: Sugar and Safe care, Temperature, Airway,
Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support for the family. A seventh module, Quality
Improvement stresses the professional responsibility of improving and evaluating care provided
to sick infants. Neonatal assessment and stabilization guidelines are offered in each module.
Prevention of adverse events and delivery of safe patient care are stressed throughout the
program.

The S.T.A.B.L.E Program module content is based on evidence and best practice that
encompasses the process of post-resuscitation care and pre-transport neonatal stabilization.
This program is recommended for health care professionals who provide care for sick infants
including, physicians, nurses, midwives, respiratory therapists, licensed practical nurses, nursing
assistants, paramedics, and emergency medical technicians.
