Pediatric mental health has been a growing concern nationally and an increasing reason for emergency department visits. The purpose of this lecture is to describe selected pediatric behavioral health emergencies commonly encountered. It will also discuss screening tools, approaches and behavioral health interventions.

Objectives:

• Understanding of pediatric behavioral emergencies presenting to emergency department.
• Identify skills to manage crisis, agitation, and behaviors in hospital setting.
