Class Information

The goal of this course is to increase the comfort and familiarity of nurses with placing peripheral lines and using and managing central lines in the pediatric population.  We will review the policies and procedures around peripheral and central lines and provide ample opportunities to provide insight into troubleshooting these lines in the pediatric population.  

 

Objectives:

  • Discuss the standards for PIV placement in the pediatric patient
  • Review Comfort Promise and provide strategies for implementation
  • Compare the different kinds of central lines commonly used in pediatric patients
