Class Information
Remember the stress of leading the megacode in PALS? I bet you never thought you'd miss it but after several years of solo computer-based learning, many nurses and healthcare workers wish there were a space to talk through codes and practice simulations in a psychologically safe (and maybe even fun!) environment to practice these critical skills. We invite you to step into the role of team leader in pediatric resuscitation with this hands-on, practice-focused course. Designed for nurses seeking to strengthen both their clinical skills and leadership abilities, this course goes beyond the fundamentals of PALS. Participants will engage in realistic pediatric mega-code simulations based on the latest American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines, practicing assessment, decision-making, and team coordination in a safe, supportive environment. By guiding teams through high-stakes scenarios and receiving structured feedback, nurses will leave feeling more confident, capable, and prepared to lead a pediatric code when it matters most.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Lead a pediatric resuscitation team effectively, following AHA guidelines.
- Assess and manage pediatric cardiac arrest scenarios, including selecting appropriate interventions for different rhythms.
- Communicate clearly and coordinate team efforts under pressure to optimize patient outcomes.
- Reflect on simulation performance and apply feedback to improve confidence and skill in clinical practice.
