  • Identify the characteristics of the LPI that predispose them to higher morbidity and mortality
  • Describe the unique ways LPI are physiologically and metabolically immature
  • Understand the steps necessary in the stabilization of the critically ill neonate
  • Describe the personnel, special equipment, and support needed to prepare for the transport of a neonate with select diagnosis
