Course Description
This two-hour interactive course introduces learners to the principles of pediatric radiology with a strong emphasis on interprofessional collaboration and child-centered care. Participants will explore common types of radiologic examinations used in pediatric patients, including plain radiography, ultrasound, CT, and MRI, and discuss appropriate indications for each modality. The course highlights risks unique to children—such as radiation exposure, sedation considerations, and developmental vulnerabilities—and strategies to minimize harm while optimizing diagnostic quality. Through an interprofessional lens, learners will examine the roles of radiologists, technologists, nurses, child life specialists, and referring clinicians in delivering safe, effective, and compassionate imaging care tailored to children and their families.
