Objectives:
Upon completion of this program the participant will be able to:
- Examine how cultural influences including technology and the media shape women’s attitudes about labor and birth
- Incorporate optimality measures as a metric to improve birth outcomes for women and infants
- Examine the neurobiology of neonatal pain
- Integrate measures to identify and manage neonatal pain
- Cite the five perinatal core measures endorsed by The Joint Commission
- Review evidence based nursing interventions that enhance quality and provide safety for hospitalized women and infants
