Objectives:
Upon completion of this program the participant will be able to:

  • Define hypertension in pregnancy according to the ACOG Executive Summary
  • ​Recognize preeclampsia is often associated with severe maternal morbidity and death
  • Review five pathological changes which occur in preeclampsia
  • Discuss guidelines and protocols that support recognition and response to preeclampsia
  • Recognize early signs of neonatal distress
  • Determine probability of early onset sepsis utilizing the newborn sepsis calculator
