Class Information

This is a 2-part session class. The 1st part is didactic from 9am - 11am. The lecture will cover the following objectives:

  • Describe two evidence-based practices that your perinatal/neonatal areas can provide to women in preterm labor and/or ELBW infants
  • Define the significance of golden hour
  • Understand the unique physiologic needs of the ELBW infant, and measures to promote optimal outcomes

The 2nd part of the class is an In-situ Neonatal Skills & Simulation from 12pm - 4pm.

Ever been in the middle of a neonatal resuscitation and wish you had a “timeout” to think about what comes next? The afternoon of simulation will be just that! We will go through multiple challenging neonatal scenarios with “timeouts” to discuss topics like: order of NRP steps, PPV strategies, priming umbilical lines, inserting LMAs, drawing up epinephrine, management of ELBW and therapeutic hypothermia patients.

All disciplines & levels of learners are welcome!
