Class Information

Pediatric Rashes are a common chief complaint seen in Emergency Departments. This lecture provides a brief overview of common skin rashes seen in children, but also highlights life-threatening dermatologic conditions in children. This lecture will also discuss characteristics of contagious dermatologic conditions and review best ways to document and describe rashes.


Objectives:

  • Review rash descriptors and ways to document pediatric rashes.
  • Discuss the assessment findings and management for common or fatal pediatric dermatologic diagnoses.
  • Describe characteristics of contagious conditions.
